Film Review: Capote

The film centres around Truman Capote (Breakfast at Tiffany's) and his journalistic colleague and friend Harper Lee (To Kill a Mockingbird). They travel to a small country town to report on murder mystery. Truman is touched by the plight of the accused... As a journalist, he reports on the plight of the accused; the film upon his condition. Note the standard plot device of a biography within a biography. The film asks the audience, which biography is a more compelling story? The fate of the pair on death row, or a 'free' man who is trapped within a prison of his own creation?

Philip Seymour Hoffman won the best actor Oscar for this performance. He plays a self-assured successful author seeking to write his next masterpiece. This pursuit consumes him - this film may be seen as a portrayal of the man as he would appear in his own biography, Capotesque. 4/5

    A film every day!
Glad I wasn't at the show you went to at the weekend - that's how people become deaf!
I don't need to buy any meat this week - we had a roast last weekend and haven't eaten any more of it yet - have been having cold meat loaf on the hot days, and hot meat loaf on the cooler days - with salad or hot vegies respectively.
I did cook some lentils with vegies including mushrooms on Wed last week, and last night did a vegie stir fry with pasta - both when Dad was out!!
I didn't spend nearly as much on the groceries yesterday - didn't need to buy any bread - still 4 loaves in the freezer - Dad hardly eats any!
But, I will need to buy more potatoes!!
Coral sent me an email from her daughter in Paris - with a photo of her at her desk and the Eiffel tower in the background - the view through the window to her right - but it looks like a poster picture!
    Love Mum
