I've been to the french film festival. Melbourne readers would note that it ends on Wednesday.
So, on with the review...
Lemming:
A romantic thriller about fidelity, seduction and identity. Alain works in computers(!) He finds a dream job in an R&D company and is forced to move to a new city (sound familiar?) His boss is an amiable chap and so is invited around for dinner. That's were all the fun starts. 'Lemmings', you might remember, was a computer game popular in the early '90s about a cute furry species that kept dropping off cliffs and dying. This film explores our parallels with the little creatures. What drives a seemingly happy beingin idyllic surrounds to self-harm? French with English subtitles. 4.5/5

My first home and away game since July.
The last one was against Freo too, at the MCG. Matthew Pavlich singlehandedly destroyed the Blues that day.
Last night's match looked just as bad as Freo jumped to a 7 to 2 goal lead at quarter time. The players have some measure of talent as witnessed by the way they fought the game out. But something isn't right at Princes Park, judging by the first quarter.
Fremantle have a predictable game plan: create a loose man then bomb the ball to Pavlich, Farmer or McPharlin. Against any other side in the competition they struggle.
Sorry Denis, but you've had 3 years now. If you can't motivate your players to play accountable man-on-man football from the first bounce, stand aside and let someone else have a go. You were a mercenary from North and Wayne Brittain was unfairly scapegoated - you've done no better as Elliott's supercoach...
Did I mention the umpiring?

Rottnest trip
Description of the photos:
- Yours truly in front of the yacht I travelled on and a cargo ship in the background.
- Ship's captain Peter, also a budding singer-songwriter.
- The beach near where we landed.
- A rather ferocious looking Quokka.
- Peter's yacht, Miss Gemma.
- A cargo ship.
- The coast again.
